I’m a little late sharing this, but I finally want to show photos from my baby girl’s pink-and-gray elephant shower. Time flew — she’s already nine months old — but the memory of that day is still vivid and special.
A bit of background: my two wonderful aunts and my cousin organized the shower. My aunt Nancy is incredibly talented — think craft-queen level. Growing up she sewed my Halloween costumes, hosted beautiful parties, and created handmade décor for years. She even ran a craft business and would hold craft shows at home; I spent many Sunday evenings helping her paint, stuff, and assemble pieces. So when she and the rest of the family offered to host the shower, I knew it would be lovely.
They chose a soft gray and pink color scheme with an elephant theme, and everything turned out breathtaking.
Every detail felt personal. My aunt and cousin handmade the invitations and prepared the sugar scrub that went into the favor boxes. Each favor box included a candle, a bottle of nail polish, and a jar of sugar scrub — small treats guests could enjoy at home.
All the cloth napkins and tablecloths were sewn by hand. Centerpieces featured potted plants coordinated to match the palette, giving the room a fresh, inviting look. In some photos you can glimpse my aunt’s beautiful backyard — it’s such a warm and well-kept space that it feels like it belongs in a design magazine.
I wish I had captured a wider shot of all the desserts on the tables, but as the guest of honor I was busy enjoying the day and couldn’t photograph everything. Still, the spread was adorable and delicious — cupcakes, cookies, and sweets in matching colors made the dessert table a focal point.
The shower was full of thoughtful touches and surrounded by people I love. I’m deeply grateful to my family for celebrating our baby with so much care and creativity. Their time and talent made the day unforgettable.
