This creamy strawberry and white chocolate smoothie is delightfully simple and quick to prepare. It delivers a milkshake-like texture without using cream or ice cream, so it feels lighter while still being satisfyingly smooth. The recipe is flexible: blend it thicker for spooning or thinner to sip through a straw. I typically use soya milk, but regular cow’s milk, almond milk, or any plant-based alternative will work just as well.
White chocolate chips add a gentle sweetness that complements ripe banana and fresh strawberries. If you prefer a different sweetener, honey is an excellent swap. For a caramel twist, drizzle in a little caramel sauce before blending. The chocolate chips will break up into small bits during blending, giving pleasant little bursts of flavor throughout the drink. Use fresh or frozen fruit depending on what you have—frozen fruit can make the smoothie extra chilled and creamy, possibly reducing the need for additional ice.
Ingredients:
2 bananas
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, washed and hulled
1 pint (about 550 ml) milk of your choice (soya milk used here)
2–4 tablespoons white chocolate chips, or honey to taste
Ice cubes (adjust amount if using frozen fruit)
Instructions:
1. Add the bananas, strawberries, white chocolate chips (or honey), ice cubes and half of the milk to a blender. Use the pulse setting and blend until smooth.
2. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more chocolate chips or a little honey, then blend again. Add the remaining milk and blend or pulse until the mixture is frothy and evenly combined.
3. Pour into glasses and enjoy immediately.
Note: If using frozen fruit, you may not need as many ice cubes. Adjust milk to reach your preferred consistency.
